propel photography workshop review | cheryl m

“Propel left me a new level of self confidence, a new circle of contacts from all over the United States and a fire to go and revamp my business.  I learned I was not running a “sustainable business” and needed to remove the emotional part that was clouding my pricing vision.  I learned to trust my vision, stop questioning myself and really go for my goals.  I was so happy with the location as well as vendors presented…

Every single detail from start to finish was impeccable. Propel was Style-Me-Pretty beautiful.  SO much thought and planning went into the workshop – any new propeller will be thrilled.  I do have to say all of the materials and vendors, I have either visited their sites multiple times or purchased from them because they are the best and I want the best for my business.  I was once told, successful people invest in themselves – Propel was a great investment for me!

branding and design | Akula Kreative

Since one of the topics I talk about at Propel is branding, I knew I wanted to model this myself.  The talented Nikki of Akula Kreative helped me design several pieces that would convey the Propel brand.  It’s so nice to work with someone who sees my vision!  Thank you, Nikki, for being so creative and witty!

pasadena wedding photography workshop dinner

Come fly with me… and Propel!  To finish off the story of our Pasadena workshop, this was our dinner.  So after our 3 gorgeous styled shoots, Propellers got this incredible surprise dinner.  I wanted them to have the most incredible experience – from top notch instruction, to delicious meals, to the most amazing shoots ever. My highlight was definitely seeing my Propellers featured on Style Me Pretty. Here is a glimpse of our dinner…
Lovely Jubilee came up with this great concept, Come Fly with Me, where she combined the name Propel with Frank Sinatra’s song. It’s genius. I love the post office inspired sign-in table above. It would be perfect for any travel themed wedding or couple who had a long distance relationship. And this was our dining table:
I die for all the gorgeous china from Casa De Perrin and the gorgeous stationery from Jen Simpson Design.

Krista Jon, this bouquet blows my mind:

Finally, we eat! mmm… thank you to The Langham for the gorgeous venue & delicious meals!
And if you haven’t seen, please check out our feature on Style Me Pretty and the amazing video by Elysium Productions.

Huge thanks to my amazing team:

Langham, Pasadena – March 2012

I am so excited to share with you the first of 3 shoots from our Pasadena workshop.  This was featured on 100 Layer Cake!  We started off bright and early with a hot breakfast in the classroom and went up til bedtime!  We had an inspiring morning where we covered topics including marketing strategies, sustainable business planning, work flow, establishing your style, getting published…  After working up our appetite, I surprised all the propellers with a beautifully designed tea party!  Everyone got time to shoot the setup, and I’m excited to announce that Jen from Green Wedding Shoes (who was one of our guest speakers) just featured two of our attendees on her blog!  As a teacher, my ultimate goal is to see my students succeed, so I’m very proud to see my propellers published!

Here’s a little glimpse at one of our lovely models, Sonia, who also happens to be an amazing event planner.  Special thanks to Skybox Event Productions for planning the logistics of the day for me.  Everything flowed so smoothly!
